SO WHO ARE THE HAVERING MARCHING MILITAIRE?
The Havering Marching Militaire was formed in November 1998
During our first year we performed at various events and venues around Essex, London and the South East.
We also took part in our first contest's which resulted in numerous successes at many Competitions.
In our second Year the band Built on their strengths and travelled further afield both in England and France.
We also went from TYMBA contest Class to the Championship Class and again had huge success at contest's resulting in several victory's.
Our Third year saw the band staying in the Championship Class in contest, and again travelling far and wide through recommendations.
Also this year, two of our members came 1st & 2nd in the TYMBA National Solo Bugle Finals held in Cannock, Staffordshire.
The band also travelled to the South Of France for a 4 day festival in Riom es Montagnes, Clermont Ferrand
Although it was a lot of hard work, (and that was just getting there), it was also a lot of fun.
In our 4th Year (2002) we have had the Honour to perform not only in Trafalgar Square,
but we also got to march down the Mall for the Queens Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
This year we have played to the participants of the London Marathon
This year, the Havering Marching Militaire has represented Great Britain in France on more than 4 occasions
2002 also saw the band take the step up to the top class in competition. the "National Class".
Not only did the band hold there own in this class, but they won 3 Contests, and were Awarded the TYMBA national Class Leauge Championship for 2002.
